The 26 mile & 15 mile Challenge routes follow the same route to begin with, leaving the Rugby Club and with historic Bury St Edmunds behind as they go into the Suffolk countryside, following footpaths, bridleways, country lanes etc.
Shortly after the Rushbrooke Arms Checkpoint the two routes divide, with the 26 mile/42K route taking the walkers and runners through various villages, going as far south as the hamlet as Willow Bridge on the A114, before heading back towards Bury St Edmunds, re-joining the 15 mile/25K mile route just outside Bury St Edmunds, then together continuing into the Abbey Gardens for a final checkpoint before looping round to finish back at the Rugby Club.
There are regular checkpoints along the routes, all having a supply of water and biscuits, and many having toilet facilities (these will be marked on the route directions).
New for 2012, the 6 mile route will be a guided walk, led by a local Blue Badge Guide. Participants will explore the lovely medieval grid and discover many nooks and crannies, whilst listening to fascinationg local stories of the town.
The 2012 event will held on June 10th.
Entrant Awards
Every entrant will received a certificate, and a well deserved sense of achievement!
A Challenge Cup will be awarded to the individual raising the most sponsorship

Certificates will be presented on the day of the event, the cups will be presented in November at a special presentation ceremony, together with the monies to the charities concerned.
