The British Walking Federation's member clubs organise events all over the country, designed for people of all ages and abilities.

The Bury St Edmunds Challenge Walk (BMF 109) is a member of the British Walking Federation and has arranged that entrants to the event are covered by their third party insurance.

You don't have to be a member of a BWF club to take part in the Bury St Edmunds Challenge - all you need to do is enter the event (forms and come along and take the opportunity to have fun and make friends.

Participants walk at their own pace enabling them to improve their personal fitness through regular, non-competitive exercise.

The BWF is a member of the International Federation of Popular Sports (better known as the IVV) which contributes towards International understanding and friendship by encouraging people of all nationalities, races and religions to participate freely and without hindrance.

Walkers are warmly invited to join the IVV award scheme which provides proof of personal achievement.

When you have completed your walk you be given a certificate. You will be offered an IVV stamp, and if you continue to collect these you will be able to claim achievement awards from the IVV at regular intervals.

These awards are an excellent way of rewarding children for taking part in walks, but many adults around the world also collect them.

BWF / IVV members’ entry fee, for any of the distances, is £5
